This week has been a bona fide goldmine of high quality tweets. Not only has the News International hacking scandal spiralled out of control, but Ed Miliband took another questionable stab at engagement with the electorate with his second attempt at the #askedm hashtag. While both of these events resulted in masses of quality tweets, they paled in comparison with my discovery of the whole community of accounts representing characters from The West Wing. Josh, Sam, Toby; they’re all there! Even Ed and Larry have an account (it’s shared, obviously). What’s more, this week saw me receive mentions from both Josh AND Donna! It was beautiful.

However, I suppose that it would be unprofessional to give the award to tweets just because they make you swoon, and so I have to opt for quality. That makes Stuart Dredge this week’s winner, for the sort of observational tweet which never fails to amuse.
